Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Travel & Health Guatemala (THGuatemala), we are committed to providing a professional, transparent, and reliable service. As many of our tours and experiences involve advance reservations with local communities, accommodation providers, transport operators, and other partners, the following cancellation and refund policy applies to all confirmed bookings unless otherwise stated in the specific itinerary.

Cancellation Terms

Refund schedule

60 days or more before arrival – 75% refund

A refund of 75% of the total trip cost will be issued.

30–59 days before arrival – 50% refund

A refund of 50% of the total trip cost will be issued.

Less than 30 days before arrival – No refund

No refund will be issued due to commitments already made with our suppliers and community partners.

Any bank transfer fees or payment processing charges are non-refundable.

Booking Confirmation & Payments

  • A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm a reservation and secure all arrangements.
  • The remaining 75% balance must be paid no later than 60 days prior to the travel date.
  • All bookings must be fully paid before the start of the trip.

Changes to a Booking

Requests to modify travel dates or services will be considered subject to availability and the conditions of our suppliers. Additional charges may apply.

Early Departure

If a traveller chooses to leave the programme before its scheduled completion, or is unable to continue due to circumstances beyond the control of Travel & Health Guatemala, no reimbursement will be provided for unused services or remaining portions of the itinerary.

Force Majeure

THGuatemala shall not be held responsible for cancellations, delays, or modifications caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, strikes, political disturbances, public health emergencies, or other force majeure events.

Minor adjustments may occasionally be necessary due to weather conditions, road access, operational requirements, or community considerations. Any significant changes will be communicated promptly, and we will always seek to provide an equivalent or improved alternative whenever possible. 

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all travellers obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, personal belongings, and unforeseen travel disruptions.

We do not sell or provide travel insurance.
