Es un recorrido de 8 días – 7 noches (Flexible a modificarse), donde se tienen la oportunidad de visitar los lugares más importantes del país, para aprender sobre la cultura, historia, gastronomía, arqueología y ecología guatemalteca, por lo que en ese viaje se solicita mucha energía y ganas de disfrutar del mundo Maya.
DÍA 1:
Llegada – Hotel Y Cena de Bienvenida.
Llegada a la ciudad de Guatemala; donde estará esperando un traslado desde el aeropuerto la Aurora hacia el hotel en Ciudad de Guatemala. Tiempo libre para descansar del vuelo y acomodarse en el hotel para estar list@s a la cena de bienvenida.
DÍA 2:
Museo Miraflores – Museo Nacional & Antigua Guatemala.
El City tour por la ciudad de Guatemala para conocer la zona arqueológica, la plaza central, el museo de Ferrocarril y Miraflores donde se puede encontrar una hermosa colección arqueológica. Seguido de este recorrido por la ciudad, nos vamos a dirigir a Antigua Guatemala, una hermosa ciudad colonial llena de historia, cultura y arquitectura.
DÍA 3:
Comunidades – Historia – Arquitectura.
Se comienza el día con un interesante tour de pueblos para conocer más de la historia de los alrededores de esta hermosa ciudad, tanto su arquitectura como su artesanía.
Por la tarde caminamos y exploramos la misma Antigua Guatemala para conocer más a fondo sus edificios más importantes junto a la historia de cada uno de ellos para empezar a comprender un poco más lo que es, hoy en día, Guatemala
DÍA 4:
Pacaya – Malvaviscos – Lago de Atitlán – Relax & Bebidas.
¡Ha llegado el día de la aventura en los volcanes!
Volcán Pacaya, donde realizaremos una caminata en los campos de lava del volcán Pacaya, uno de los tres volcanes activos en Guatemala. La caminata tiene un nivel de dificultad leve, toma alrededor de 5 horas hacer toda la actividad por lo que se considera una caminata accesible a cualquier persona.
Por la tarde llega la hora de transportarnos hacia el maravilloso Lago de Atitlán, el más bello del mundo. Oportunidad perfecta para cargarnos de energía, comer bien y relajarnos en las orillas de este hermoso lago.
DÍA 5:
Tour – San juan – Santiago & San Marcos La Laguna.
El día se inicia con un hermoso amanecer a orillas de las azules aguas del lago Atitlán, seguido de un tour a los principales pueblos que rodean este bello lago.
San Juan La Laguna, para conocer a fondo su arte y textilería, el proceso de producción de café, procesos de tinte natural, y una visita a una organización local que trabaja agricultura orgánica
– Por supuesto, no nos podemos perder la oportunidad de degustar los platillos preparados de la misma producción.
Santiago Atitlán, que alberga la iglesia más grande y antigua en territorio Tzu’tujil, pueblo Maya. Y por último nos dirigiremos a San Marcos La Laguna, el pueblo de la paz y tranquilidad, meditación y relajación.
Un día lleno de naturaleza, cultura y belleza escénica.
DÍA 6:
Desayuno típico – Xela – Bebidas & Descanso.
¡El segundo amanecer a orillas del Lago Atitlán!
Después de un delicioso desayuno típico, llega la hora de transportarnos hacia Quetzaltenango, cuna de la cultura guatemalteca. Conocido como Xela, la segunda ciudad más importante, caracterizada por conservar la cultura Maya Viva, ciudad principal para el aprendizaje del idioma español como segunda lengua.
Al llegar a Xela, se tiene tiempo para acomodarse en su hotel y descansar un poco ya que al llegar el anochecer iniciaremos un tour bohemio, visitando los principales bares de la ciudad, bares que albergan historia y cultura Quetzalteca.
DÍA 7:
La primer iglesia Católica Fundada en Centro América – Aguas Termales.
Admirar de la primera iglesia católica fundada en Centro América es una pequeña parte de la historia viva que vas a disfrutar.
Este será un día de pueblos y agricultura. Por la mañana nos dirigiremos hacia las increíbles aguas termales para iniciar el día con mucha energía. Las Fuentes Georginas son piscinas de aguas azufradas provenientes de las venas del volcán Zunil. Pueblo que se visita después de un baño relajante en las Fuentes Georginas. Zunil es un pueblo Maya Kiche en su totalidad, productor agrícola.
Por la tarde, se conduce a dos pueblos maravillosos:
Salcajá: Un pueblo pequeño a 20 minutos de Xela, dicho pueblo alberga la primera iglesia católica fundada por los españoles en Centroamérica, belleza arquitectónica y cultural. Salcajá también es famoso por la producción del “Caldo de Frutas” , bebida preparada artesanalmente a base de fermentación de frutas de la temporada. Es un vino dulce y fuerte pero delicioso.
San Andrés Xecul: otro pequeño pueblo alrededor de Xela, famoso por su iglesia amarilla y su altar Maya, un claro ejemplo del misticismo y fusión del catolicismo con la religión Maya.
¡Es un gran día de historia, todo ello sin manejar más de una hora de Xela!
Día 8:
El final en Guatemala comienza.
Amanecer en Xela, clima templado, tierra que alberga variedad micro climas, pájaros, entre ellos el Quetzal, ave nacional de Guatemala.
Este día se toma ruta hacia la Ciudad de Guatemala o Antigua Guatemala para explorar un poco más y descansar o esperar el vuelo de regreso a Casa.

DAY 1:
Arrival, Pick Up, Hotel, Welcome Dinner.
You arrive at Guatemala’s La Aurora International Airport. A pre-arranged transfer collects you from the airport and takes you to a nearby hotel. Relax and wind down before your official Welcome Dinner.
DAY 2:
Antigua, Mira Flores Museum, Mayan Archeological Site, National Museum.
A tour of Guatemala City takes you to the Miraflores Museum which is on the archeological site of the ancient Mayan city of Kaminalijuyu. The museum has one of Guatemala’s finest archeological collections. You will also have the opportunity to visit the National Museum, Railway Museum and the city’s Central square.
After the tour you head to the beautiful UNESCO listed city of Antigua which is only an hour’s drive from the capital. Antigua’s charming colonial streets are full of history, culture and beautiful architecture.
DAY 3:
Village Tour, History of Antigua.
The day starts with a fascinating tour of the villages surrounding Antigua where you will learn more about their history and culture.
In the afternoon you will explore the history of Antigua’s most important buildings which will help you to put modern Guatemala in context.
DAY 4:
Pacaya, Marshmallows, Lake Atitlan, Drinks, Relax.
Marshmallows at the ready! Your Pacaya adventure starts here!
Pacaya is the most accessible of Guatemala’s three active volcanoes. The climb has a reasonable level of difficulty and the whole trip takes about 5 hours from start to finish.
In the afternoon you’ll head to Panajachel and stunning Lake Atitlan. Here you can recover from your adventure and enjoy a relaxing drink and meal overlooking one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
DAY 5:
Atitlan Tour, San Juan La Laguna, San Juan La Laguna, San Marcos La Laguna.
Wake up to sunrise over Atitlan’s sparkling blue water before starting a tour of the main villages surrounding the lake.
San Juan La Laguna is a tranquil village where you can buy local arts and textiles along with glimpsing the processes behind the local production of coffee and natural dyes. You will also have the opportunity to visit a local organization that promotes organic agriculture. Here you will be able to try their fresh produce and sample some of the wonderful local dishes.
San Juan La Laguna is a Mayan village that is home to the largest and oldest church in Tzu’tujil territory. It was the pre-Colombian capital of the Tzu’tujil people and has a weaving center and museum. The museum explains the history and tradition of backstrap loom-weaving and the traditional dress of the Tzu’tujil.
San Marcos La Laguna is the last stop on the tour and gives you the opportunity to experience some meditation and relaxation.
The trip offers a day of culture and color in the backdrop of Atitlan’s outstanding natural beauty.
DAY 6:
Breakfast, Xela, Drinks, Relax.
After a delicious breakfast, you travel north to Guatemala’s second city and cultural heart, Quetzaltenango. Affectionately known as Xela (Shay-la), and with over 50% of the population Mam-Mayan, Quetzaltenango is unofficially known as the capital of Mayan Guatemala.
Quetzaltenango is also the main center for Spanish learning in the country. On arriving in Xela, you will have time to settle in to your hotel and get some rest. Later in the evening you will tour the city’s main bars and experience some of Xela’s history and culture.
DAY 7:
First Catholic Church in Central America, Fuentes Georginas (hot springs).
Seeing the first Catholic church in Central America is just part of a wonderful day of living history.
Fuentes Georginas is your first stop and gets your day off to an energized start. These clear blue
hot springs are heated by the Zunil volcano which gives its name to the nearby Mayan Quiche
village and your next stop. A visit to the community of Zunil will give you a great insight into the
local way of life which is completely reliant on farming to survive.
The afternoon involves the magnificent colonial church tour of Salcajá and San Andres Xecul.
Salcajá is home to the first Catholic church to be founded by the Spanish in Central America. Just
20 minutes from Xela, it’s also famous for its local tipple “Caldo de Frutas”, a sweet eggnog style
drink that you can taste for yourself.
San Andres Xecul is home to something truly special. Also close to Xela, its famous yellow church
is a stunning mix of colonial Catholicism and Mayan symbolism. The combination creates a
wonderfully vibrant facade that captures the unique and rich culture of Guatemala.
It’s a great day of history and all within an hour’s drive of Xela.
DAY 8:
The Journey Home.
Your final day starts in Xela as you travel back to either Guatemala City or Antigua as the stop
off before your flight home.

• Hold a passport that is valid for at least six months.

• The national currency is the Quetzal and we advise you to check currency conversion rates before travel.
• ATMs are easy to access in major towns like Antigua, Guatemala City and Xela but be aware that many places do not accept credit card or debit card. It is therefore a good idea to carry some cash for small purchases.
